Epsilon Ursae Minoris, the Planet of Eden
The first planet discovered to have a sizeable community of Dionae - independently growing around a singular beacon. Discovered in the late 2420s by Captain Weirun Tup, the world was initially believed to contain an anomaly that produced electromagnetic interference but instead upon further investigation the Captain was welcomed by a Colony of the secluded community. After a great deal of time, Epsilon Ursae Minoris eventually saw the initial Skrell settlement of Qerr'Naal grow and prosper into a megapolis.
In recent times Epsilon Ursae Minoris has undergone a 'revival' with Skrell, and Dionae, architects carefully planning around the agreement of the singular settlement - with skyrises that reach high into the atmosphere, and deep beneath the crust of the planet. Whilst most of the industry revolves around the agricultural sector, the Federation continually has tried to push the boundaries of the agreement, allowing for more and more industries to crop up across Qerr'Naal.
History
Epsilon Ursae Minoris was discovered in 2428 CE by Captain Weirun Tup aboard the JVSS Qu’Ruii. Initial scans indicated that a signal was being emitted, interfering with electronic devices across the vessel - soon the planet was designated an astrological anomaly and further investigation would be warranted.
Many of the crew were initially sceptical of the interference, however, it was quickly replaced with excitement as the prospects of an uncontacted sapient species increased exponentially. With the vessel descending, a landing was required in order to further investigate the planet - eventually a clearing was selected, now known as the commencement of Qerr'Naal. As the crew began to further inspect the planet it became increasingly more obvious that Epsilon Ursae Minoris exhibited signs of being inhabited, however, it was unnaturally untouched.
As the team closed in on their investigation, they discovered something they'd never seen before - an independent Dionae Colony. The Colony had somehow formed a rudimentary beacon - later discovered to be countless elderly nymphs repurposed to be capable of communicating outside of the planet's atmosphere.
The team began their diplomatic talks, using both the Xuq Machine and other Dionae from the Nrallak Cluster. Whilst the team prodded and questioned the Dionae within the colony, the Captain stirred in intense thought. Being a follower of Dienabi Religion, the Captain could not overlook the cluster - soon commencing to document their beliefs in what is now the Dienabi followers most treasured piece - The Deathflower Journal.
Once the investigation had concluded, almost a year after its commencement, the Federation had declared a representative would be required to remain in order to continue conversing, if not studying, the Colony. Believing that it was a sign, the Captain stepped down from their position, and instead remained on the planet continuing their studies into the Dionae. Eventually, Weirun Tup would become the leader of the singular settlement on Epsilon Ursae Minoris - whilst still writing everything they could into the Journal.
Weirun Tup's disappearance on August 19th 2440 CE plunged the settlement into a state of emergency, with many frantically searching for signs of the Skrell. It was only after a week had passed, that the Skrell's personal items were brought forward by the Dionae. They stated that the Skrell had "Ascended, and united with the Dionae." Initially, this caused panic - however, the reveal of the Skrell's journal prompted a wave of conversions, Dienabi eventually being accepted and spread in mass as the Nlom was affected.
The Dionae found on Epsilon Ursae Minoris have also noted to be incredibly advanced, even before that of their discovery. They are the first Cluster to have hailed another species through the creation of a makeshift radio tower, but also are the first cluster to have been seen creating a society without the assistance of genetic samples. Many Skrell Researchers journey to Epsilon Ursae Minoris to study the now advanced society - where not only are Dionae becoming more popular and seen as equal, but the Dionae are now capable of expanding their influence into the stars.
Environment
Epsilon Ursae Minoris' relatively young lifespan has allowed for the formation of a planet-wide ocean, with minor continents splitting the depths - with the lands being relatively flat besides that of the few mountains that dot the planet. A continental climate is the most common climate across the planet - with seasons occurring, typically long, hot summers and cold, dry winters - which has allowed for world encased in natural beauty all year round, with various ranges of different hues that paint the landscape into magnificent works of art.
Rotation & Orbit
Epsilon Ursae Minoris takes approximately 37.1 hours to rotate on its own axis, with the larger part of the day taking up most of the planet's rotation, combined with the binary-pairing it orbits, has allowed for an extremely illuminated landscape that remains in darkness for only a trivial period - with the planet only completing an orbit every 482 days, basking in the starlight for innumerable periods.
Culture
The Skrell population within Epsilon Ursae Minoris is meagre in comparison to the community of Dionae that call the planet home. With almost two million Dionae inhabiting Qerr'Naal, majority of all facets of life on Epsilon Ursae Minoris is accommodated for the Dionae, and the preservation of the environment surrounding the megapolis. The Dionae that originate from the planet are expected to go above and beyond in protecting their environment - even going as far as to construct large air scrubbers atop of the skyrises to remove the damage done by the industries within the settlement.
Despite the constant influx of tourists, from all across the Orion Spur, the Dionae not elevated into positions within the clergy tend to stray away. This has lead to many believing those from Epsilon Ursae Minoris to be shy, however, in reality they've been conditioned over the last few decades to leave interactions with the unawakened to higher clergy members - so that they can unleash the potential within the individuals. If no clergy member is nearby the Dionae are expected to act on behalf of the entirety of the community, and engage in conversations.
Religion
Dienabi, and the presence of those who worship such, has managed to intertwine with many of the Dionae. The planet is known for its importance to the religion, with many trekking far on 'pilgrimages' in order to continue their life alongside the Dionae - essentially joining the other 'ascended'. Whilst many of the Dionae on Epsilon Ursae Minoris accept the offering of those wishing to join them, with those that do not share the belief have begun nicknaming those wishing to 'ascend' as 'suicidals'. This has lead to quite a few religious conflicts, as well as debates, regarding whether the act of such is ethical or not.
Major Locations
Qerr'Naal, the largest and only settlement across the entirety of the planet. Resting alongside Wela Sea and Qlep Ocean, Qerr'Naal often experiences tropical storms that siege the city, thanks to the quick cooling of the rising, hot air. Most of the storms can easily be predicted months in advance, some even visiting the planet in order to be engulfed within the gigantic storm. Despite this, most of the time Qerr'Naal is said relatively safe that's to advanced engineering that is built to withstand the storms.
