Lakeside


The second largest religion is the worship of the Snow God Mata'ke and his cohort companion gods, which dates back to ancient Tajaran times. A figure of legend, Mata'ke is believed to have been the head of a hardy clan of mountain dwellers which regularly came to the aid of other clans which were constantly plagued by bandits and wild animals. He was revered as a fierce warrior capable of fighting a platoon of men by himself, but also as a kind soul for the records of his dealings with other clans show understanding and kindness. He is upheld to be the ultimate Tajaran- powerful, wise, and magnanimous. Followers of Mata'ke himself endeavor to emulate his grandeur, while others attempt to emulate the other gods.

In Tajaran mythology, the clan of Mata'ke rose to the status of gods when they slew the King of the Rrak'narrr, who was also the lord and master of all Adhomai. Upon killing him, the various clansmen all absorbed different aspects of its many powers, each becoming immortal. As the one who dealt the killing blow, and at the will of the dying Rrak'narrr's final wishes, Mata'ke absorbed the majority of the powers and became lord and master of all Adhomai. The clan then decided that their former settlement was not befitting of their powers, and instead established themselves in a city of wonders at the "Edge of Adhomai" where they fend off malicious entities and protects all Tajara.

Decently far north, northernmost city. At southernmost edge of peninsula. Which is hedged in by mountains. Forests? Plains? Canals, focus on high fashion, always pushing the envelope with yearly fhasion shows. Citizens there are known to be a bit stuck up, heavy focus on manners, looks down on others for not being up to date on their trends. Even the poorest dress in their outlandish styles. Common honeymoon and wedding destination. Industry of Belle Cote based around mostly artisans producing hand-made textiles competing for the most prestigious fashion. SOme textiles mills also exist belonging to more unscrupulous designers, though they are very looked down on by most natives and only the least fashionable wear them. The mills use the fame of the city to sell their merch to department stores abroad.

Far away from water or bodies of water. Located at a very central place on Selene continent. Could be in middle of plains surrounded by farmlands. Central location necessary for its business focus. Could have started as a central butchery and meat processing location for the surrounding farmlands. Important crossroads location connecting all of them, maybe actually started as large farmer's market before industries started popping up. As Biesel became populated enough, maybe the first local automotive and hovercar manufacturing sprung up there. Moguls began building up the city with their niceties so they could live there and manager their businesses year round instead of travelling from Mendell. Today known for old money combined with redneck cowboy aesthetic, think "Doug Dimmadome." Still holds yearly farmer's market in one of its suburbs.

Jokingly and affectionately called "the city of hereos" and the location of modern superhero movies in the Biesellite film industry. Some actors even travel the streets in costume for press and PR events and to drum up hype for upcoming releases.

Small family-run motels from before tourism rose in popularity still dot plots of land surrounded by the big boys. High crime from the local poor people who also work the service industry in the area. Lots of drug smuggling/dealing. Lots of seafood hibachi restaurants with local dishes. Sunny and tropical weather year round with occasional severe tropical storms. Annual boating races are a popular attraction. Boating clubs line the beaches along with large beachside estates in the wealthy suburbs.
