Pop Culture

Through-out the Orion Spur, there are various elements that allow people to bond over their shared hatred or liking over a specific topic. There are hundreds of shows, musical bands and games out there - but the following are some of the most well-known.

Shows

Juu’Uxri

A Skrell medical series, with swabs of propaganda thrown in, revolving around a singular (female) Skrell who is psionically deaf.

Protagonist: Kii-Lu Ooo (Played by Qoql Tuxx)

The show would be characterized by attempting to show Skrell what it would be like without Srom or Nlom - and how it should be seen as a gift.

Beyond Sol

A Human political drama, set in an alternative universe, where a species called Ul’iks invaded Earth in the late 22nd Century but were repelled. It would revolve around the President of Sol, Jiang Shi, who is attempting to return Earth to its former glory.

Protagonist: Jiang Shi (Played by Hunter Nguyen)

The show would be shown following political events and how President Jiang Shi deals with them.

Adhomai’s Uprising

A NanoTrasen sponsored show, mostly revolving around the events that occurred during the first uprising on Adhomai. It follows a rebel Hharar Tajaran Soldier fighting against the loyalists, mixed with intrigue, betrayal and murder, the show has seen a recent jump in views due to the District Six Riots.

Protagonist: Rostov El-Shafari (Played by Yurik Al-Fadel)

The show would be likely characterised as a military drama, but also a form of propaganda for the People’s Republic of Adhomai. It is said to have various events from the Uprising featured and also portrays the Hadii Dynasty as a key element in the Rebellion.

I / 0

Tau Ceti’s most favoured series, according to statistics. It features numerous species working with a Detective Baseline called Integer Zero, nicknamed Zero. The show would follow the daily life of the Baseline and the crimes they solve but also the issues that are commonly presented to Synthetics.

Protagonist: Integer Zero, or Zero (Played by N3-M0, more commonly known as Nemo)

The show would likely be characterised as a crime drama, also showing how laborious efforts a Synthetic must go through in order to actually achieve anything. Favoured by fans.

Camp Integrity

A show produced by Humans, however, starring Unathi. The show takes place in Camp Integrity, designed with a very ‘Wild West’ approach - some Unathi go as far as to call it a Hyperbole. The show follows the last surviving members of Clan Kal, and how they deal with the impact of the Contact War. Camp Integrity takes place two years after the bombs have fallen.

Protagonists: Zsi Kal (Played by Zsi Husso), Oko’Sos Kal (Played by Oko’Sos Husso) Z’Ksis Kal (Played by Z’Ksis Husso)

The show would likely be characterised as a ‘Soap Opera’. It would follow the rebuilding of Clan Kal and how the Wasteland has affected the Unathi.

Music

Rii’Luux

Rii’Luux is a small musical group composed of a Skrell, Fuu Qu’Ka, and a Dionae, Withering Bushes of Great Heights. Rii’Luux is popular amongst the younger Skrell within the Federation, as the band combines both Rootsong and musical variations of Nral’Malik.

Yasmin Piaf

Yasmina Burokov, a well-known artist within the People’s Republic of Adhomai. Her music is said to be innocent and angelic.

The Bloodstorm

Bloodstorm is a famous and infamous DPRA Heavy Metal Band which has surged in popularity with the younger “denier” generation. Those in this generation are categorized by their refusal of modern Tajara convictions but also human influences, instead of turning to their roots.

The Ancestral Drum of Clan Ski

The Ancestral Drum are a group of several dozen Unathi that have travelled from Ouerea to Tau Ceti, where they have performed many traditional Th’akh hymns with deep tones, drum beats, and traditional Unathi women's blade dancing. The group of Unathi often tell stories of great ancestors that ruled the plains of Moghes, spirits that haunt the lands they meet, and songs of hunting wild animals on alien planets. Sometimes, the group is known for doing comedy satire making fun of Not’zar Izweski and the Hegemony, and for this, they are disallowed from returning to Moghes.
