Out-of-Character Information

With so many different variations and possibilities of Dionae, as well as some confusion, the Dionae Development Team believes it is best to clarify such in page dedicated to clarifying!

Dionae & You

Clusters are essentially, groups of Dionae. When viewing a cluster, think of one large house, except there are hundreds, if not thousands, of voices at any given time! With so many voices, sometimes a Dionae might feel overwhelmed or simply wish to leave - this is when a Gestalt may form. The name of the gestalt may vary but will be based on a few factors; Experiences, Emotions and Age.

Dionae have a variety of Clusters to come from;

  • The Pests of Titan Prime
  • The Abandoned Labs of Xrim
  • The Royal Garden of Dominia
  • Epsilon Ursae Minoris
  • The Biesellian Choir
  • The Narrows
  • The Wild Ones
  • The Spirits of the Oasis

Each has its own unique culture, which can be found on this page.

CHARACTER OUTLINES

Character Outlines

The Pests of Titan Prime

Dionae on Titan Prime hid for nearly half a millennia in order to survive the onslaught of the Vaurca. Having been scooped up during a routine refuelling in a Gas Giant, the Cluster began growing like a weed on the hull. Dozens of Vaurca would be dispatched over the next centuries to destroy the growth, each failing to do so.

Characters from this Cluster are likely to:

  • Have a negative opinion of Vaurca.
  • Split seldomly, or not at all.
  • Gravitate towards Engineering or Mining.
  • Be extremely traumatized from their experiences.
  • Be well over a century old.

The Abandoned Labs of Xrim

Dionae from Xrim were deposited by what they call 'The First Consciousness' later revealed to the Skrell Intelligence, Glorsh. The Cluster split into two ideologies: Shrkh & Ksshr.

Shrkh find themselves devoting small portions of their day to thank 'The First Consciousness'. Dionae from this group tend to find themselves more oppressed within the Federation than the Ksshr Dionae, staying on Xrim within the labs whilst the Ksshr ascend to the stars.

Ksshr Dionae mostly devote themselves to the research and development of new technologies. The Ksshr formed after the discovery of the heinous actions committed by Glorsh-Omega splitting themselves from the Shkrh. They are agnostic rather pouring their energy into the Sciences than into the worship of deities. This is also one of the more common types of Dionae to leave Xrim, due to the bias against the Shkrh and their beliefs that go against the Skrell.

Shrkh Characters from this Cluster are likely to:

  • Have a negative opinion of Skrell, but have a positive one of Synthetics.
  • Actively speak about the injustices brought upon them by the Skrell.
  • Be religious.
  • Gravitate towards Science and Engineering.
  • Be over a century old.

Ksshr Characters from this Cluster are likely to:

  • Have a positive opinion of Skrell, but a negative one of Synthetics.
  • Be agnostic, and appreciative of innovation and intelligence.
  • Gravitate towards Science and Engineering.
  • Be over a century old.

The Royal Garden of Dominia

The Emperor himself perceives the Diona as the perfect subservient life form, and has a personal biodome connected to his palace that houses the Royal Garden, where all his most loved children stay. When a nymph is grown in his garden, it is grown in the best imported soil and given imported comet-based water. These diona nymphs are the perfect gift for The direct vassals, pets, children, and jesters to the high nobility of Dominia, these gestalts are perceived as displays of immense wealth for nobility.

Characters from this Cluster are likely to:

  • Follow the Moroz Holy Tribunal.
  • Show great respect to Dominians, and to be subservient to them.
  • Have a negative view of IPC and Hegemony Unathi. Be indifferent to Tajaran.
  • Gravitate towards Service.
  • Be well under a century old.

Epsilon Ursae Minoris

The first discovery of Sentient Dionae on a Planet. Epsilon Ursae Minoris contains only one settlement, as per an agreement made by the Dionae and Skrell, Qerr'Naal. The Settlement has recently undergone expansion to accommodate the incoming tourists that view themselves as Pilgrims due to their belief of the Dienabi.

Characters from this Cluster are likely to:

  • Follow the Dienabi Religion.
  • Be indifferent to all non-Dionae.
  • Gravitate towards Science, Service and Engineering.
  • Be over a century old.

The Biesellian Choir

The Biesellian Choir is a relatively 'new' Cluster to the Orion Spur, having only been established in the 2390s with the construction of the Eternal Temple. Led by an argus, Connected to the Blossoms Beyond, it has grown into safe-haven for all Dionae on Biesel. They are also the largest population outside of the Federation, who also follow The Eternal.

Characters from this Cluster are likely to:

  • Have served in the Tau Ceti Foreign League.
  • Follow the Eternal, and live in District 11.
  • Be indifferent to non-Dionae, but seek to form meaningful connections.
  • Be an employee of NanoTrasen.
  • Be under a century old.

The Narrows

H-Z-63 nicknamed “The Narrows”, a now-abandoned prison based on an asteroid, developed by Hephaestus within the Frontier. H-Z-63 was unveiled as the perfect solution to deal with the swabs of criminal activity that had formed within the Frontier. It was hailed as an innovation that would bring new prosperity to the surrounding systems, especially with the number of criminals being sent that would soon be contributing to the galactic economy and no longer being burdens.

Characters from this Cluster are likely to:

  • Hate chaos, and will actively avoid it. They also view their superiors as wise.
  • Be an employee of Hephaestus.
  • Gravitate towards Mining, Service and Engineering.
  • Be under a century old.

The Wild Ones

The enigmatic Dionae forms that patrol the void in search of biomass which they can breakdown and further use to grow. Hunted for the goods, and the ambergris located within, they've all but been eradicated. There a handful that are monitored closely by Scientists studying their behaviour.

Characters from this Cluster are likely to:

  • Have a negative opinion of Frontiersmen.
  • Have eccentric personalities.
  • Gravitate towards Service, Science or Engineering.
  • Be over a century old.

The Spirits of the Oasis

Birthed under mysterious circumstances, this Cluster has begun its revitalization of Moghes. The Dionae's unique ability to sift the radiation from the planet has allowed various Sinta Tribes to 'recolonise' the Wastes that they'd been struggling to survive within. Many are valued by the Sinta, some even joining Clans as esteemed guildsmen.

Characters from this Cluster are likely to:

  • Have a positive opinion of Moghes Unathi, but a negative on of Dominian Unathi.
  • Have personalities traits similar to that of Unathi.
  • Gravitate towards Engineering, Security or Service.
  • Be well under a century old.

Whitelist Expectations

Dionae are an incredibly alien species, and so creating an application for it might prove difficult. You are expected to show an understanding of the species, covering a multitude of topics, so which ones should you look out for?

TOPICS ENCOURAGED FOR WHITELIST APPLICATIONS

  • Origin

The origin of your Dionae - where did it come from? Did they come from a Cluster or were they grown in isolation? How has this affected your Dionae in the present day?

  • Name

The name of your Dionae - why is it named that? What experiences occurred that prompted your Dionae to make a name surrounding it?

  • Life before Biesel

The life your Dionae has lived before entering the Republic of Biesel. What did they before arriving in Biesel? Do they hold resent towards a particular species? If so, why?

  • Life on Biesel

How has life on Biesel affected your Dionae. Have they experienced degrees of racism? If they studied a degree, where did they study and how has this affected them? Remember to take a look at the Citizenship page, and describe how your Dionae achieved citizenship (or if they didn't, how it has affected them!)

  • The NSS Aurora

How did your Dionae find NanoTrasen? Do they support the Megacorporation? If not, why? How did your Dionae get a position on the NSS Aurora?
