List of persistent mechanics

(Based of code at 2026-07-09)

This page lists all currently available persistent mechanics and provides a small description on how they work. Objects featuring persistence generally have a limited lifespan to prevent too many occurrences of them and their location is primarily the main thing for persistence.

Objects with Persistence

Items

Stickers

- Stickers put on walls, windows or similar can become persistence based of a small chance roll, their lifespan is rather short.

Ashtrays

- Crafted or printed ashtrays automatically become persistent and retain their contents.

Trash

- Trash like food wrappers or similar becomes persistent when dropped by a character. Areas like maintenance or the janitor room / crusher automatically remove their persistence. Picking up trash and disposing it will therefor remove it. It will automatically vanish after a couple of days as well.

Informative

Notice boards / Paper

- Papers pinned to notice boards stay across rounds. Simply removing a pinned paper automatically loses persistence. Besides regular notice boards there are command-access locked notice boards for important information that can only be edited by characters with appropiate access.

Sticky notes

- Like regular stickers these become persistent when stuck to any structure. They have a longer lifespan then regular stickers and don't have a random chance to become persistent, they will always be persistent.

Economy

Special operations supply packages

- A package looking like an average cargo package without any special markings. These packages don't have any specific mechanics but automatically become persistent on the ship. These can only be spawned by staff. They are primarily used for arc related events and not found in the regular gameplay.

Special operations charge card

- Introduced for the persistent supply packages this special charge card can only be spawned by staff. Compared to a regular charge card this type retains its location and charge amount. These are primarily used for arc related events and not found in the regular gameplay. If the round ends while the charge card is not within a command area (head offices or bridge area), it automatically gets moved to a table in the executive officers office at the start of the next round.
