As such, most coastal cities on Biesel are fortified to reduce infrastructural damage from flooding. Despite the flood risks, there is very little risk of tsunamis on Biesel because of almost non-existent tectonic activity. In the summer, tropical storms form frequently, but because of the smaller land area, can become very strong. Many coastal cities have detection systems that sound an alarm if the correct atmospheric conditions are met.
